The future, science fiction and concept art underpin this project especially in terms of its drama, connotations and most importantly conceptualisation methodology. This study will appropriate the idea of postmodern science fiction of the late 20th century, looking to encapsulate the pastiche of a futuristic design that is already old. This collection will comprise of all of the above to generate a vision that is both noticeably science fiction and yet very credible as a contemporary and cool menswear collection.Based around a dystopian mood, trying to develop a notion of order and uniform that we could imagine in some bleak autocratic sci-fi movie like Equilibrium or Metropolis. Inspired by steam punks and their turn of the century, highly mechanised creations, it will suggest gratuitous details of functionality achieved through a subtle yet overarched design aesthetic.Intended for a man who believes in high quality, functional outerwear but doesn’t just want form to follow function.Jordan Pauljordanf.paul@hotmail.co.uk
